Hello:)

Ive been trolling this site for a long time, just peeking around- and Now it seems i have an actual issue i need help on.

I drove my car home on Dec 31st, and it ran fine the whole way home (about 111miles) I pulled into a gas station to grab a case of beer, and when i came out and started my car, it started- but chugged hard and died. I managed to get it started- with the same chugging twice, and then it completely died and would not start. I got it towed home, where it has been sitting in my garage ever since. The starter cranks, so i dont believe it is the battery, and from what i've read- it would seem to be a fuel pump issue. If anyone can grant me any insight that would be great. I would like to think its a pump issue, but the fact that it started, although it was struggling, makes me think its not the pump, and something else.

I guess i should add that the car has almost 200k on it.

Im not the most techinally savvy person, but im willing to learn:) I'd like to get more information before I go out and rent a space heater to heat my garage. (-15 windchill is not fun for working on my car)

First would be to check if the fuel pump is working, you should here it kick on when you turn the key to run. If not you may want to check your cut off switch. it may be tripped or faulty. Then check your relays under the hood. If you got it from a private source you may want to change the fuel filter.

Welcome to the world of explorers, this site has great info.

Tim
