Is there any software out there that you can draw a flow chart of your audio system..ie HU and wires going to amp etc..or some symbols you can download and import into excel, word or smartdraw.....
I guess I could draw it by hand or just use standard shapes but was just wondering if there was any software out there

Drats...
looks like its rectangles & circles then

whatever works right?

Daps-

There is a program called "Visio" that you can use to layout plans and diagrams.
It comes with shapes already loaded into it that you can grab and pull from a selection area.
It's pretty cool for graphs, layouts and diagrams.

You might be able to download a copy of it off of limewire or something.

Hope that helps a little!

Thanks
I'll give that a shot...
Putting it on paper will make sure I don't forget anything while im installing

Yeah VisioTech works pretty good for drawing electrical systems. I had to diagram a vending machine control center for a design project and I used Visio, turned out pretty well.
Lots of symbols that work well for electrical things, I'll see if I can find you a copy.

well you could probably use something like AutoCad then too right? Neither is specifically designed for audio diagrams but both will work i guess......

Autocad...hehe didnt want to go that advanced lol

oh well i was just throwing suggestions out-i use AutoCad all the time school and home and i was thinking like "it has electrical symbols, etc."......just trying to help you out.

If you are good with formatting, Excel and its drawing tools will work. I have done this. Plus you can do various math formulas for you audio setup - calculate ohms, etc. Calculate costs, etc.

Computer guy so I'm good with excel and stuff
Dont care about the ohms and things like that
I was just wanting to draw it out to get a picture in my mind and to make sure I dont forget to pick up the parts and tools I need...I got a copy of visio 2002 so i may just try and use that. we'll see
