I was on this site several months ago, and I found out if I came here first I could save a lot of money instead of trouble shooting the problem on my own. Earlier this year, I changed the starter, battery, cables etc...Explorer was running okay after that but if it got warm, sometimes it would not start. I changed the themostat and I have not had the problem for a couple of weeks, until this morning, it would turn over but not start. I waited like I usually do, and it still did not start. From the research I believe it is the Crank Position Sensor, but I can't find anything on the site about where it is or how difficult it is to replace. I am not one of those girls that worries about getting her hands dirty, I do what I have to, but I know my limits and if it is going to be a difficult job, I'll find someone to do it. Can anyone lead me to some instructions?

CKP shouldn't be hard to change: it's on the bottom front of the engine next to the crankshaft. I'm pretty sure Chiltons and/or Haynes will have instructions for replacement.

CKP - Crank Position sensor

Are they the same thing?

Yes, CKP=CranKshaft Position sensor.
