Well we got a 94 for $100 to use as a mud truck and it treated us well for 5 trips, but it finally decided to lose oil pressure and start knockin. WE got the 4.0L pulled out, I can get a complete drive train including transfer case from a 88 F-150 and then throw on a carb and distributor to avoid the wiring. Will the tranny be the same length and allow us to use the stock driveshafts? Can I get motor mounts from somewhere? Im rippin the heater and ac boxes and all the other BS out that was in there.

There are A LOT of write-ups on doing this.

if you do this PLEASE take a lot of pics of putting the new motor in. I'm thinking about doing this swap (carb'd 302) and I'm not too mechanically inclined. But if its pretty straight forward I might give it a try to get rid of the horrible a4ld.......what part of ohio are you in?

Advance Adapters makes engine mounts for small block Fords for your X, plus quite a few transmission adapters and trans to T-case adapters. Try the link below. Make sure to note 2WD vs 4WD when you are purchasing mounts though, there is a difference; the 713018 mounts may be what you're looking for.
