Cargo area.

Ok i have a 98 Sport 2 door hatchback and in the cargo space on the right hand side there is the pocket for storage with the little net on it, well the clips on one side are broken so its just kinda lopsided now. how would i go about removing that ? do i have to remove the entire panel that spans from the front doors bak to the hatch or is there some way of easy access? i can get pictures if necessary i just need to know if anyones done this b4 or if theres a write up.

...Yes, in order to remove that ring, the best way would be to pull that whole panel loose...

...That ring has fins that go thru the panel and they have slots in them...On the other side of the panel, Ford put wedges in thru those slots...

...Sorry, it is not just a snap on ring...

Man i love my truck but i just want to kick ford in the ass for some of the hard to access areas. like i had to take a wheel off to get half my spark plugs and it was still difficult. then this part with the cargo thing. i know its gonna be difficult to remove the panel. does anyone have any write ups for that? or at least some instructions so im not doing this blind.

lmao man high five on that one, but i just removed the back popper things basically that held it on, and just held the panel enough so i could get my hand in there to pop those wedge thingys out, theres quite a few bro

This is a subwoofer cover, but the concept is the same. The ring is between the cargo tray and the interior panel. The tabs go through everything, and these clips hold everything tight.

...Yep, them's the wedges...I've owned several Ford's and never seen them except on the X..

...Removing the panel is pretty easy and there are only a couple screws...

So basically your saying to pull the main panel out just enough to get the cargo tray out. gotcha. now im curious what points is the main panel attached to the chassis like what screws are where and how do i go about pulling those wedges? just pull em with a pair of pliers or something?
