I want to replace the bulb in the cargo light. Does anyone know how to remove the bulb from the assembly? It appears that the bulb is soldered or otherwise attached to the assembly.
it is not soldered on... it is connected by a u shaped piece on either end being slid onto a metal flat piece... i have replced it before..... i have also removed it and added a 10" blue neon....
i had those bulbs... they suck... the color is painted not impregnated..... it burns off and gets ugly.... i think what the owners manual listed is wrong.... i know for a fact that that bulb isnt the stock bulb for a 91-94...the pic al posted is what i have gotten at the local pep boys.... al, the bulb in your pic does not look like what i removed from mine... you are right... the ends are different... the stock bulbs have a half hourglas shaped electrode that is what attaches them to the assembly and provides power
aldive, go to pep boys... thy have a little electronic box that lists what your bulb # and location is if you enter your year, make, model and engine.....
i agree with you jimabena.. i had those bulbs and theys lowly start turning green and eventually white. you shoud just go to an import car store and get quality japanese lightbulbs. itz around $10 a bulb, but you wont have to replace it every few days. good luck
I replaced mine with a 211-2 blue bulb from autozone.
in about 1 month they changed to a pink faded color. a 211-2 will fit, but i think you have to pry the connectors inward so they will hold the light.
