Cargo liner Question

I'm planning on taking my explorer up to bear lake, Idaho, with the rest of my family. Some of the swimming clothes, and especially the raft my brother insists on bringing up gets very "sandy" or i guess muddy. I dont want my explorer to get dirty since its so new(to me)! So out of my old 98 explorer, I have a rubber cargo liner. Anyone think it will work or fit my 05 explorer? I know I could just try and see if it fits, but its in the back of my shed. I wouldn't want to dig it out for it not to work.

Im guessing anything you put back there will "work". The goal is to keep the crap at bay. I'm pretty sure your new Ex is bigger than your old one so it stands to reason that the '98 cargo liner will be smaller. Granted, I am not speaking from experience but merley speculating. I guess the bottom line is you are going into the shed and digging that mother jumper out! Enjoy the trip!

Go quick and cheap. Blue tarp from Home Depot or Lowe's. How about tying raft to roof rack? For trip home deflate and roll it up in tarp and tie it down on roof. Make sure it's secured properly. Have fun!

I was thinking getting the blue tarp like you said and just wrapping it up, and tieing it up, and put it on a couple of my "automotive towels". Sometimes it gets windy up on the way through the canyons and mountains, and I'm not sure driving a canyon would be too good with something that small on the roof rack. But thanks for the suggestion. I like the blue tarp suggestion. And trust me...this raft that my bro has is f'n huge. Like 10ft by 10ft.

I would recommend a blue tarp. Got one for the same reason as you I have no problem using my truck as a carrying vehicle but no point in getting it dirty when you can easily avoid it. I've got a home depot blue tarp that fits in the hatch you get if you don't have a 3rd row. It's easily repaid itself in the crap in catches for the >$10 it cost me.
