I just went to carparts.com and a JC Whitney page came up and it talks about how they have "joined forces"

Sorry :)

yeh, now that carparts.com is with jcwhitney, there servers are slow as hell. andi know its not my computer. im at work.

mike, JCW has always been slow...

i've been to jcw retail store in lasalle il, its a disaster. everyone there is so dumb. i ask for a part for them to bring me up front, they bring 2 wrong grills and finally bring the right one the 3rd time. after 40 minutes of waiting i had enough. most of their parts arent really all that great. they should sell stuff like superchips, Borlas, and stuff that is quality

If it was quality, it just wouldn't be J.C. Whitney.

I always used to figure that they hired crackheads to pull orders. I once ordered crackle paint, the stuff that looks wrinkled on electronic parts, and got a cheap set of wire strippers instead.

It's too bad they merged; competition is a good thing. I've ordered from J.C. Whitney over the telephone, and they didn't screw up my order. I've never used Carparts.com, and I've heard that they screwed up quite often. I guess that's why they're out of business.

I was really disappointed when Wrenchead went with Napa Online. I had ordered from Wrenchead, and thought they were very good; they never screwed up an order. Wrenchead also placed an emphasis on parts for older cars, which was good when I was looking for parts for my '67 GTO.

an olympic chapion actually said that??? (refering to your signiture)
what a ****y *******

So where is a good place to order parts now? I just plain can't find anything much at jc whitney.. They usually do have decent deals on the few good things that they carry though..

Thanks Jim!

I always had good luck with carparts.com , always got my order correct and becuase of coupons beat the heck out of local prices .... even after shipping . Ive ordered several times and never got a wrong part . I guess the problem with carparts.com is you HAVE to know what you need . If you look up say a "clutch" you have to know splines/size / etc. If you don't youre gonna get the wrong part . I semi like www.autozone.com now , little sloppy of a site but not to bad . Of course autozone still gives the wrong stuff all the time even though the PC says it's correct . Ill have to try carparts.com again soon , see if it's still as good . Atleast they changed from the JC Whitless format back to the carparts.com format .
