case of haunted headlights....please help

well i've had my headlights, Xeon 80watt low, 110 watt high beams i think, if thats not it, then its really close. but i've had them in my truck since feb this year. and last week one night...i was pulling in my garage and i noticed they were flickering on and off slowly.....this only occured for a few seconds while the garage door was opening...then it didn't happen agian....
A week and a half passed with nothing of that nature happening..... now tonight on my drive home... the shut off while i was going down my road... i quickly switched them off then pulled them back on real fast..and they came on,..but only for about 6-8 seconds, then the process repeated its self... this happened about 4 times before the lights stayed on for good.

are my headlight bulbs wattage being to much?
Its werid cuz they've been in there for around 8 months now...with no problem at all.
should i be concerned with this problem?
is it even a big problem??

souhnds like they are shorting out or you may have a loose connection...... it could also be that the bulbs are failing... the bulbs in my old blazer headlights were shot from vibration and if i kicked the light it would work fine....but when i turned it off it wouldnt work next time i turned them on...... i got tired of kicking + punching the lights all the time and replaced the bulbs.... didnt have anymore problems with them....

Lemme know what you find out out. Ive been looking at those same bulbs fer my truck. By the way, were you happy with them prior to the problem?

yea i liked them before they started doing this.
but i wanna get rid of them and get some PIAA's

they are so bright the grey the put at the end of each bulb burnt off cuz they are so bright.


i'd sell if your intersted they still work...

lol maybe you need thicker guage wiring for the new bulbs or something? i think piaa bulbs with high enough wattage require that. i only have like 80 watt highs in my truck noyka's.

You may have a bad pull out switch. It is known to go on these things. Take it out of your dash (takes like 2 min.) and look at the brown wire in the harness, if it is burnt, replace the switch(like $20) and you will be on your way, THis happened to me with flickering lights and I ended up driving home 4 hours holding my flash-to-pass lights the whole way.
