I would go with Catco high flow converters. Summit Racing sells them.

Your old should just un-bolt. If you go with the Catco's you will most likely have to shorten or lengthen some of the exhaust.

You might be best off having an exhaust shop put them in.

The stock OEM catalytic converters are fairly hi flow for a stock part.
Unless you are going to do come big changes to your engine, you won't really gain much by going to a hi flow catalytic converter. Shop for the best price.

OEM Cat Conv but...

Because I am only a novice mechanic... I want to go the easiest route even if it's a little more expensive, since I'll be saving money doing the work myself anyway...

I want to go with the best price CAt but I want to make sure I won't have to do any cutting or welding. Cutting is not too much of a problem but the welding I don't want to do...
I have read in other areas where there was cutting and welding done becasue they didn't use a certain type of cat... I was looking for infor on 1. difficulty of the work
2. best cat to buy for least amount of work(no cutting or welding,if possible)

thank you for all your help

Check RockAuto.com, I got a Walker cat for my 96 Sport. They had the best price.

Bolt on cats will usually be expensive, such as $150-$300 each. Universal cats are very easy to buy for about $50 each. Any muffler shop has the skill to replace a cat like that, but a great number will not do it.

Your old cats need to be bad before you set about to replace them. If you want to consider saving that large amount of money, call the shops where you live and ask them if they will replace a cat with a universal model. Many shops will stock those kind of cats, if they will do it you can have it done in one stop. Good luck,

I've had a Walker on my 96 Sport for over 2 years. $258.00 + bolts & gaskets, from RockAuto.com.
