The Cat. on my truck is all busted up, and I hear metal moving around inside it. Would it be ok to just cut it out and replce it with some pipe and have no cat.? Besides being in trouble with the inspectors.

I would replace it with another cat, not just pipe. Contrary to popular belief, cats are actually pretty good at flowing air. I know the factory cats flow more air even than my Magnaflow muffler. You can also get a cat that is specifically "hi-flow". Thus, no benefit of having no cat, and you'll be legal (and helping the environment).

Yeah what Alec said is totally true... in some cases, removing the cat can hurt performance and will definitely harm our environment (only planet that we know of that can sustain life - so lets take care of it for now).

Anyhow, SummitRacing has lots of High-Flow cats and should be able to help you out. I have a 91 Exp with a dual cat converter (stock) and was able a get a high-flow dual cat replacement from them w/o a problem.
