I have been a life long ford owner , worked as a mechanic in a ford dealership, graduated from Lincoln technical, have worked on cars and trucks for thirty five years plus,
While driving home a low oil pressure message came on there was loss of power some clanking noises and thi happened instantly engine stopped and would not start had it towed to granite ford, they called me the next day saying I needed a new motor at the cost $ 6,400 this too much for me so l towed to my home, in process of removing the engine I could not turn the motor over to get at last fly wheel bolts took the oil out antifreeze poured out with the oil pulled the pan and found top of piston, a broken valve and wrist pin. Wrist pin was in excellent condition, appearenly the piston was hitting crank. My car has 90,000 miles. I found a used motor with a warrenty for 3 years parts and labor included for 1,900 pretty good deal though I would change some more likely items due to typical wear the water pump is behind the timing cover which puts it the oil system what kind of design puts a water pump that is sure to fail insid the engine. Instead of costing couple hundred dollars to replace the pump antifreeze gets into the oil destroying the engine this makes no sense to me.
