I installed my Cobra Night Watch CB radio in my truck but i have a problem.... when my truck is off and my cb is tuned i can talk to people just fine but then when i start my truck i get a lot more static than when it was off... is this normal or is it a ground problem? if so how do i fix it?
Thanks

Do you have it wired straiit to the battery for the power? If so you could be hearing the altinator. Make sure you have a good ground.

I had the same problem with my first CB. With mine, it was poor grounding. Try isolating the antenna and mount from the truck. Most CBs have a ground at the head unit. I used nylon washers instead of metal, and it fixed the problem. (WAY cheap at Home Depot)

Other problems come from having the coaxle cable wrapped too tightly, pinched against sharp metal, or coiled. Also, be sure to keep your power cables (for other accessories) away from the coaxle as they can cause interferance.
