Hi Dave.... I still have had no reply on this, I also asked the question awhile back and got no reply. Do you or anyone else know, if you can buy a blank plate of some sort if you remove the changer, as I want to take mine out (if I find out how) so I can sell it with the ford head unit.

I wonder if all UK Explorers came with the CD changer ? if not perhaps some earlier models may have a blanking plate there or even another storage hole . Only a guess though, come on guys someone must know the answer ??

I'm still trying to figure out the question, LOL. What exactly are you trying to do? Remove the changer from the console or what?

Remove the 6 CD changer from the rear of the car. In my 98' the CD changer unit is located in the rear of the car driver side. I want to take the unit out, but it has a kind of plastic trim all around it, I can't work out if the trim pull's off or has some kind of locating lugs? it is not pulling off very easily and it feels like it will snap with force. Once the trim is off the whole panel with the changer can then be removed (I hope)

you should go to your auto store and get a manual...the removal has to be in there... here in the states its in the center consle (well atleast in my model/year it is).

good luck with that

Yeah I did get the manual.... and guess what.... Nothing in there...Grrrrrrrr :)
