I have a Pioneer six-disk changer in my '92 5 speed manual. It is currently mounted below the ashtry which works very nicely since I can access it from the driver's seat and doesn't take up any storage room (ie. armrest console). I have two problems with the setup though. One is purely asthetics, it does not look very clean or professional. The other is that it is clearly visable to anyone looking in from the outside. This could be solved by tinting the front windows, but I don't want to do that. Anyway, to the crux of my question. I once saw mention of a reciever which would solve both problems, but I cannot for the life of me find the post. It was a plastic console extender with a reciever and even a little sliding door. Has anyone ever heard of or seen such a thing, or did I just make up a fantasy solution?

Only mods at the moment is a set of M LTX A/T and a coat of wax.

I haven't heard of the thing you're talking about, but they make a cover for the changer, with a flap over the front, I think they use them for the glove box, but they look nice and it would cover the change, and at least at night you can't tell what it is even if you could see it it looks like a black box.
