I was thinking today as i turned and all my cds fell underneath the seat maybe i should get a cd changer. I have about 6 cds to my name and thought maybe it would be easier to keep them in the changer. I really don't know what you all mean when you say the radio will have a cd button if it will work. I have the single load cd player and it does have a button that says cd. I was reading that the wiring is already there for it. I was trying earlier this summer to put a Mach Audio system in my XLT and there was not wiring for it, but they will leave wiring for the cd changer? why is that? How do i go about finding the wire harness for the changer? thanks

Best bet to finding it would be to pull the cd player out and look and see if you can find a plug in hanging out the back. Why would ford have the mach system wiring laid down already? That is just throwing away more money on there part.

If I pressed the CD button more than once on my 98 explorer it said "no CDDJ" meaning no changer was hooked up. If yours does that than you should just be able to plug it in the back. Mine was the tape/cd player head unit. I wont swear to it but I think that head unit is the same with Mach unit, i just didnt have the speakers and sub. When I pulled the HU there was a place to plug something else in over the two black clips.
