swapping console cd changer

I have a 97 explorer that had a aftermarket cd changer in the console, with 8 foot of wadded up cord stuffed under the accesory tray. I swapped the stock cd changer from a 96 explorer includung the entire console wiring harness. Now i have no rear speakers and the rear radio controls dont work, heat controls work and the cd changer works?? Any ideas? I reinstalled the original harness minus the changer adapter and everything works again.

Update

After searching the entire site i came up with a pretty good wiring color/diagram chart for the audio system. I checked every color to make sure they went to where they were supposed to go, checked for proper voltages etc. Decided to remove rear control panel from system and bam had rear speakers again. Turns out the control panel was bad, swapped it with the 96 unit and all works as intended. Thanks for a awesome site to find all the info i needed to troubleshoot!!


p.s.
anyone interested in a aftermarket (audiovox) 6 disc changer with plug and play harness? Fits a 97 for sure.
