CD player issues

I have to replace the CD player in my ‘15 xlt because all it’s doing it giving me a disc read error no matter what cd I put in. I refuse to spend $1000-something at the dealer for a new one. I’ve never had a CD player go bad on me before other than a discs getting stuck in my wife’s old focus.

So I am looking for a used replacement. Since this one has the single disc I was wondering is there an in-dash cd changer option for this year I could swap instead?

I don't know if it makes a difference in the unit you get but I believe the AOIM is attached to the back of the CD player.

Funny you mention that. I was actually looking into replacing the APIM as well while in there to get one with nav.

I couldn’t find the differences between the CD player part number. I ended up playing it safe and sticking with the same number that came factory. Found one at a salvage yard for $40 with a 30 day warranty. It either works or I get a new one
