I currently have a 95 explorer with the rear stereo controls, and I would like to swap in a cd player from another explorer. Are there any specifics I should know about before getting a CD player from a newer model truck? Can I swap in one from a ranger or F150? Please bare in mind that I would like to keep the factory rear stereo controls. I have already switched the door speakers to a different amp, so that isn't a problem. Anyone have any input on this?

Thanks,
-Justin

PS - Please do not post and tell me to swap in an aftermarket. I have already taken that road, and I would like to go back to a stock headunit.

PPS - If anyone has a stock CD player that we'll fit my application, please respond and we'll see what we can work out.

Not to sound like a butt head or anything, but WHY would you wanna upgrade to a FACTORY stereo? I'm pretty sure there's a way to rig up an aftermarket HU to the rear seat controls.

If you do want to stay factory though, try to get one from a 95 Explorer. Some other models have slightly different radio's. An F-150 with a regular cab won't have rear controls......
