CEL for PATS system

I got my 02 explorer scanned recently and in the history was a code for the PATS system. On a side note, I have this problem where my door locks do not work when the car is off, rendering a key fob useless. The puddle lights turn on, but nothing happens. Is this related to the pats system? My key works fine, oh and from what I can tell my alarm doesn't go off if I unlock a door from the inside and open it. And if the code and that problem are related, anybody know if it's worth it to troubleshoot it at a dealership?

Idk I think the pats system is a pos and cost me $100 for a new key because my pats system thought my key was trying to steal it all because the battery was dead on the explorer. Got lucky and didn't have to have it towed to a dealer and I was already at home

All in all good idea but a ****ty design
