CEL O2 sensor

Have been doing my best searching for how to clean/replace the o2 sensor. Went to autozone, to have my cel scanned got this on my 2000 sohc sport:
P0140
0512
HO2S Bank 1 Sensor 2

This means what exactly?

with out my book here I can not give a difinative answer.
I can tell you this much the sensor is just the messenger, and not always the culprate.

P0140 - O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 1 Sensor 2)

I haven't noticed any changes in performance. Unsure of mileage since it came on this morning. From what I've been reading if it's after the cat, it isn't a big deal until inspection time?

Hook up an OBD II scanner and monitor the O2 sensor(s) function.

A day later, CEL is gone. What's up with that? Guess it's a none issue now.
