I have a 98 ranger sport ,2x4 ,3.0 , auto trans . The plastic tab that latches the arm rest closed brok . I dont see no way to take the inside of the arm rest out . It has a piece of sticky felt like in the bottom .
Is there screws under this ? How do you get the inside of the arm rest out ?
Thanks Joey

Not sure on the Rangers. I have the long console in Explorer, and there are small screws that remove the inner piece. It looks like it was designed to hold CD's. When that is out, there are more screws to get at the 2 latches that secure the padded armrest closed.
Hope that helps.

Screws hold the insert in my 96. Without going outside in the dark, I think they are on the sides near the top. If you don't find them, post a question, and I will go look in the morning.

Sorry, I just noticed you said Ranger, mine is an Explorer. I wasn't paying attention
