I’m looking for a wiring diagram for the high profile center console. I recently acquired a high profile console to replace the short version console I have in my 2000 XLS.
The new console has all the ducts, wiring, and fan but what I need to know is which wires do I connect to have just the AC control and fan unit working. I just got in my AC panel from FPN that allows airflow into the console but my 2000 XLS doesn't have the center console wire harness. I will have to tap in to existing wiring.
I have about 28 wires coming from the console. I just want the ones that will allow me to uses the rear AC control. I will worry about the stereo control wires at another time. Any help or wiring diagrams would be helpful.

I do have the large connecter (with 7 inches of wire) that connects the center console. Out of the 28 wires, I can only find 20 matching wires in my dash area. The fan does not come on with the 20 wires hooked up. I'm missing something simple.

I dont have an answer to your question, but I would like to know what exactly you ordered from FPN. Im thinking about doing the same thing myself.

One suggestion, is to look in a junkyard for the wiring harness you need. Might be kind of hard finding a 2000, but I think 97-2000 will work for ya.

Thanks

Steven

Dan- did you ever figure this out? I have a console on the way and would like to see what it took for you to accomplish the swap. So you say you had to order an A/C panel, huh? Do you have the part number/description for that? Thanks!

Dan - I'm also interested in the A/C duct that you got. I I'm waiting for the floor brackets for FPN.

What are the colors of the wires you need. I have almost all of the wire located. Do you have the message center also?

Harry

Ooooh, do you have the wires for the the a/c controls and the radio? I don't have the trip computer. Thanks!

If anyone wants it i have a full wiring harness with the rear air and audio controls for sale out of my 95. It should fit any 95-01 explorer WITHOUT center cd changer

Harry,
Yes. I have the full wiring harness with the rear control unit connected. From ford they wanted like $110 just for the wires. Make me a fair offer and everything is yours.

Harry- I would like the wire codes to connect the rear a/c controls. I have an aftermarket radio so I don't think the rear radio controls will work anymore. Is this correct? Thanks for your help!

Nitelife,
I have the entire wiring harness that plugs directly into the large sqaure connector in the center of the dash. I sold the rear cotrols to Harry, but I still have the full wiring harness available. Let me know. it is a $110 part from ford, but I'm willing to let it go for a lot less.

Nitelife -

The rear controls will not work without an adapter as far as I know. I saw a post somewhere that had the rear adapter. I'll have to look.

I'll send you what I have so far for the ac wiring.

Harry.

Well, I am actually still waiting for the console to come in. Hopefully, it should arrive the next day or two. Let take a good look at it and see what I will need in terms of connectors and/or adaptors. I was just thinking I could splice some wires to get it working.
95SLT- I'll get back with you if i need that harness.
Harry- I would greatly appreciate the help. Here is my email: mrodriguez6@austin.rr.com

Nitelife -

Check your mail. I sent you the diagrams.

I have my center console but I still don't have the mounting brackets in yet.

My harness and electronics are shot. I bought my center console on ebay so I guess I should have asked some more questions.

Dead Link Removed

The ad said "water damaged" and specified "as is" but for $100 i though I'd take a shot. Looks like someone either played submarine or it was in a flood.

The harness is not a problem because I work for a wiring manufacturer and can make a new harness if I need.

If you need some misc. wire terminals I can hook you up.

Harry

Well, my console came in a couple weeks ago but I've been too busy to look at it. But...... now that I have I see that I have a little problem. First of all, I don't see any wiring at all. The control panel is in there but I can't see any wires. Also, there is large section of the the air duct missing. I am guessing that is the part with the blower cause I don't see that on my console either. Looks like I have to hunt for the blower, wires, air duct, and floor brackets.

One last thing, I haven't looked yet but is there gonna be a wire connector under my dash that I can plug my console wire into? Or will I have to do some splicing into those wires under there?

Thanks for all the help!

Nitelife,
I have the wiring for the center console for the fasn and rear controls and stuff. it has a large square connector that will plug in under your dash if you have the plug. If your interested, let me know. ford wanted $110 for the wire harness. Make me an offer.

Ok, let me look into this a little further and I'll let you know. Thanks!
