Center console

The center console on a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport 4X4 rattles and doesn't seem to be fastened to the dashboard side...has anyone else incurred this problem and come up with a fix?....thanks

Possibly the mounting tabs are broken off? IIRC the dashboard side has a piece of black foam on the end edge making it fit tighter, is your foam missing? If you have the foam, depending on what the problem is, you might be able to mount it with a piece of double sided foam tape between that foam and the dash section, or use some spray adhesive on the foam towards the same end.

IIRC it just pops off so you can take a better look at it. If nothing else you might see if a local junkyard has the piece you need.
