Center Console

I am looking at swapping out my center console. I have a '96 sport with the basic console. I wanna swap it out for one out of a limited that has the buttons and the digital read out. Are the plugs already in place? Can I bolt in the new one? Is it that easy or is it a big modification??

It's a BIG modification. You have to run brand new wires and sensors all over the place. Unless you're very patient and really good at electric stuff and such this project is not for the regular shade tree mechanic. It's not worth the headache IMO.

Hey, i did this mod....i had the short console also, here is what you do...get the limited console and remove your ashtray...it bolts right up to it...however...you would have to drill two holes in the back of the console underneathe cuz the screws wont line up...after that..there you have it...now for the Message Center, i have a thread out there under general explorations on how to install a message center...you just need to sensors, low oil and low washer fluid sensor...the rest is all wires...which you have to apply, there is no plug -n- play...any questions? just ask...
