I am swapping in my mod 5 speed and want to know what clutch.I am swapping in dana 60's and will be running 46 baja claws ( mud rig).I am looking at a cenerforce stage 2 or a spec stage 2.Anyone have any input on these clutches?I don't think a luk or stock replacement clutch will last very long.I already have a new flywheel and slave. Thanks

46" Baja Claws?

Centerforce or Spec might be good, you might also consider the Centerforce Dual Friction.

Which slave cylinder will you be using? OE Motorcraft seems to last the longest. Be sure to use the throwout bearing that comes with the clutch kit if it's specific to the clutch though.

OE Motorcraft slave.I was planning on a centerforce stage 2 or a spec stage 2.Yeah I have a brand new set of 46 baja claws gonig to try them since i cant find any 44 tsl's.

What did you end up using??? I'm doing the same thing.

My opinion on clutches...
the centerforce clutch rebuilds a stock clutch, stock springs with weights to increase clamp force at higher RPM. I think the stage II does upgrade the friction material. I've owned two centerforce clutches and both threw the weights. I haven't had any experience with a spec clutch.

I had a center force dual friction on my old sport. Worked fine.
Did they change the weights? I was told by center force that the weights are not used on this application because of clearance problems. I know mine did not have them.
