"Change oil soon"

Hi All,
I just bought a Ford explorer 2005. It have 27000km on it.
It was giving a message "Change oil soon". I changed the oil 10W-30. But even after the oil change I keep on getting the message when ever I start the engine.

Any clue how to resolve this issue.

Hi,
I posted a question but no one bothered to answer a simple inquiry. Any ways I checked the Internet for the problem. And I found out that the Car information System have to be reset on every oil change.
I am posting my findings to help people with the same issue.

Guys (Pros) please try to be more helpful than this.

We try to be helpful, but in order for us to help you need to post your questions in the proper place. In this instance in the 3rd gen (2002-2005) section. Also the site has a search feature, and you could have just searched and found the answer, since it has been answered many times.

I also think you should be using 5W-20
check your manual or the oil cover - it probably says 5W20

it doesnt matter what you do its electronic... you should have a menu and buttons that say setup/reset/menu you want to scroll through setup and reset it that way
