I heard from someone that I should change my wires to alleviate an issue with rough running on my 96 XLT. I haven't had any codes thrown. Will bad wires cause my issues no matter what the codes say?
Thanks
KT

I would go down a small checklist, before just throwing money at a thought. Clean air filter, look for broken vacuum lines (was my problem). Clean throttle body, pull plugs and look at them.etc. There are several things that can cause it to run rough.

.When was your last full tune up and cleaning a MAF can do wonders..:)

I need to check the vacuum lines to be sure there are no issues. I swapped the IACV with a used one last year. I swapped all plugs but I did not swap the wires.
