Changes to Ranger in 2003???

I just bought a 2003 4x4 Ranger. I was out looking for Power Slot rotors yesterday, and they don't make em for me! 2002 OK. Were there changes in this model year? What else?

My rotors are about 11.25". I talked to a guy at Pep Boys yesterday and said I needed that size or 12". Every manufacturer site I go on, Brembo, Powerslot, etc. All have rotors till 2002 in 4x4....2003 nothing!

Raybestos has them listed in both 11-1/4" and 12" sizes for 2003. Go to RockAuto.com, they have about the best prices I can find.

11.28" to 12" front rotors was a midyear change on the 2003 4x4's. There is documentation that says it happened in March of 2003 but some owners dispute that date. Mine was built in 5/03 and it has 12" rotors.

For a while, the aftermarket did not support the 12" rotors at all but now they are starting to. If you have 11.28", just order 2002 4x4 replacements.

Thanks! I was just about to go to Ford dealership to see what was going on. Makes sense, too bad the guys I talked to with Power slot didn't know squat.

Bob, That is good information. I thought all the 2003 4x4 Rangers had the 12" rotors. If the change did take place in March 03, then most likely half of the 03 4x4 Rangers have the 11.28" rotors.
