Changing a Clutch in Explorer

I'm changing the clutch in my 1995 2wd Explorer Sport.

I bought a kit, and I was wondering if there was a sticky post of DIY. Ive changed clutches, tranny ect. But I just want to see if theres something special about this one, since I never messed with explorers much.

And yes, the Explorer clutch set-up has a few nuances that make it unique - but I'll get to that

You MUST replace the slave and master cylinders and use a reputable brand like LUK
The "power torque" and "duralast" slave cylinders are garbage and will not last
Otherwise it is not much different then any other vehicles clutch
There are some simple tricks to getting a proper bleed on the hydraulic system I can link to the how to videos

Thanks, my clutch only slips after I've driven for a while. 4th and 5th gear mostly. I've replaced the master cylinder already. I bought the complete kit.

I bought a clutch master kit it came with everything. But on the pressure plate its stamped SEC0.O. my explorer is bone stock with the good ol lifter tick on a cold start up. Lol.

Sounds like you're good to go. Turn up the radio volume to drown out the lifter tick. Lol!
