I have a 2000 Ford Explorer sport 2-Door SUV. It has a 4.0L, OHV Engine and it's 4 Wheel Drive.

How difficult is it to change the "Front dirveshaft" in this vehicle? Are there any pictures or illustrations anywhere?

Any assistance will be magnanimously appreciated.

Thanks :D

its pretty easy for a ranger and i think that the explorer are just the same it requires a 6mm allen wrench get the socket kind and a torx wrench for the front u joint straps. Took mine out because blew seal out and grease when everywhere :(

Pretty straightforward and should take no more than 30 minutes. I'm not sure if it's changed on the 2000 but on my 97 I had six 8mm bolts securing the transfercase end of the shaft and four torx head bolts securing the differential end.
