I have been having trouble with me Explorer lately. Scroll down on the page as I have two on this one and one on the next page to get the update. I have heard from my inlaws that Ford has had ICM (Ignition Control Module)troubles in the past. But not just on Explorers but with everything else they make. True or False? I found a place to get one ($160.00) but I want to make sure before I go get it. Is there any certain one (brand) to get or is one just as good as the other? Also, is there any tips to changing it out that yall have to offer as I am new to working on newer cars. I am kind of partial to the oldies. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I talked to two different shops and both had the same thing to say (one was a Ford dealership). They said that if the check engine don't come on before it happens that it is going to be hard to find. They also said that the best thing to do is to try to keep driving it till it starts happening more frequent and then bring it in for a check on the machine. I don't know what else to do.
I have cleaned everything that yall have mentioned. I guess I will try the ICM next. I hope I am not "Chasing My Tail"
