I did some checking, and a new FACTORY Carlite windshield from Ford is only $159.
I doubt the dealer installs them or would do it for free anyway, but if they're that cheap retail from the dealer, that's probably why a glass place that gets them wholesale can do an Explorer for well under $200 installed. Aftermarket glass likely costs even less, I'd guess maybe $100.
