Let me clarify one thing for you guys, before you start judging me. Making trails here in this area is what we do here and we (off-road club) keep manage of this area and keep it clean. This is how we find all of the interesting sections. There is not a section of a motorcycle trail I've ever had to turn around on. I walk all trails like that to see what it is all about. My elite pic is on a motorcycle trail. And as going to fast I was maybe, maybe doing 2 m.p.h. Yes I wasn't paying attention and I take full credit for that mistake. It won't be repeated!! The only type of plants there is to kill is sagebrush which we burn every year. The only thing I did wrong was drive to close , not looking in front of me, and rolling my truck. So I'm sorry I seemed to offend some of you by my wheelin pics. You guys just don't understand how this area works when it comes to the OHV area.

you may be right... ryan and I are from here in Colorado where there really is no OHV parks... just forest service lands... and out here you really have to watch what you do. You put ruts in the land, suprise, you've just closed a trail. That's exagerrating a bit but you see the point. There aren't a lot of "make your own trail" areas as there are there. In fact if you try and make your own typically you can do what ryan talked about, getting trails closed down because one person went one way, then a few more, then they were in areas where they shouldn't be and trails had to be closed. It seems you'd have to be going faster then 2 mph but you may be right on that as well and I apologize for jumping to the conclusion that you were going too fast. They shut down our trails on a regular basis and all we can do is try our best to repair them and clean them up before they do, otherwise there shut down for good. In an OHV park you wouldn't exactly have to worry about that.

No need to apolagize!! It just seemed to me you were making me out to be a suicidel dumb ass, who's out to get trails closed. People try to get the area closed all the time but there is just to much support from the off-road club and various dirt bike clubs. By exploring the way we do we have formed trails such as Devils Corall and The Play Pin. My two favs!! We make these trails that all people can enjoy not just us. I am sad to hear that you don't have the pleasure of doing things like this in your location. Maybe you can come up here and I'll show ya around. One last note! Does your BLM(Bureau of Land Management) monitor your trails? Ours only shows up to supervise the clean up we do. Real sad!!

I'm not sure exactly what the forest service (our BLM) does to decide when to close trails. I rarely see them patrolling trails but they must because I don't know how else they would decide which trails to close down. I've seen forest service jeeps on a few trails here and there but mainly only on forest service roads that lead to a destination they need to get to (for example a repeater station or power lines).

It's entirely possible to roll at that speed! My first roll was at a dead stop. I just turned the wheels a little while standing still, and onto my roof I went. It was also a fairly flat area, with one small rut that my front tire was in.
It's like throwing your back out. You don't have to be lifting 500 pounds for it to happen.

Just got off the phone with the Ford guys and I should have my truck back by Monday night. WOOOOO HOOOOO!!! I can't wait to get it back. I'm really jonesin for some 4 wheelin!!!

The 44 is still #1 on my to do list. I'm now thinkin of doing a dana 60 in the rear for total bullet proof. But thats still in the works.

This is to everyone that has been in a four wheelin roll-over. I took studdedx back out to the trails a few days after getting it back. I am now scared to do the things I did before. The first time it flex over to my side I stopped quickly and reversed to take a different line. So my question is this, Have any of you been able to shake this feeling in your gut or your mind? Any comments welcome. Thanks!!!!

Yes.

It takes time. Drive slowly, try simple things. I still get willies when I see large, vertical, rock drop offs.

Of course, after the third roll, you don't care anymore anyway..

Well I can say after a year I'm back to my foolish ways.

Well not really but I do walk everything I'm about to go over. No more just look and drive. I walk first. I even went back there last weekend and the paint from the side of my X is still on the rocks!!!


I have now left my mark on this world!!!
