Your question is a little cornfusing. Are you trying to say that your charging system indicator light came on while you were driving and now your car won't start? if so, 99% of the time its the regulator in your alternator. Take the alternator into Autozone, have them test it to be sure, and get a new one. Wouldn't hurt to take the battery in to get tested too. They'll even charge it up for free.

Yes. That is my question. Sorry i really didnt know how to explain it.

Ok, thought so. Anyways it most likely a faulty alternator. Take the alternator in to get tested and replaced.

Themightyquinn it was not the alternator. It was the crankshaft sensor and the harmonic balancer.
thank you for your help

Hmm. That's weird that those two would cause a battery charging fault.

Mine did the same thing today. I would try to start my car and it would give me one click and the check charging system message appeared. I cleaned my battery terminals and boom! Started right up. The terminals weren't corroded or anything. Kinda weird.

.... The terminals weren't corroded or anything. Kinda weird....

The terminals do not have to look grossly corroded to not conduct electricity!

Yeah....figured that out after it started when I cleaned the terminals. Learn somthing new everyday.:D

still trying to figure out how a camshaft sensor and a harmonic balancer would cause a battery charging fault.....

Sorry i have gotten back. The pulley of the harmonic balancer can loose or unstuck. Whenever i would use the x. The pulley would grind on my camshaft sensor.
