Check Engine Light HELP!

Alright, I have a 1998 explorer 4.0L OHV. About a month ago, my CEL came on. I ran it, and it came up as "upper egr cable off or unplugged". All the cables running from my egr are plugged in, so it makes me think something is broken. If anybody knows anything about this, please let me know. Thanks

If the wiring going into the solenoid or the DPFE sensor is plugged and the cel is set then the circuitry inside the component is bad (open). I see cars come to my shop all the time and O2's showing an open circuit code only to find the sensor itself is suspect. -j
