check engine light.....

i have a 95 eddie bauer 4x4....the check engine light has been going on and off for a few months now. but it will only go on if i'm driving somewhere. once i turn the truck off and then go to go somewhere again, it won't come back on right away. it won't come back on until i drive somewhere again but sometimes i can go on several trips without seeing it. the truck runs pretty smooth with no signs of any problems. it doesn't knock, tap or anything......if anyone has had this problem and knows of what it might be, it would be greatly appreciated!

Some engine codes are stored, bring it into an Autozone and have the codes read for free. Research your codes here and ask questions if something isn't clear.
