My check engine light has been on for 2yrs. Still don't know what the problem is. Jim Kiem Ford, where I bought, wants me to purchase a service package or charge me $250 to FIND the problem, then give an estimate to fix it. Any suggestions...

Go to AutoZone, they pull codes free of charge, (or use to, don't think they stopped) get the codes, and post the codes here in your thread.

My 96 is OBD 1 so Advanced Auto doesn't carry the equipment for it. Guy told me there is a way to count the blinking check engine light (when ya can get it to do it) and this will give you the code to go look for. I'm gonna start with replacing O2 sensors, unhooking the battery for a few, re-connect and see if it resets.

97 started the OBD II and most parts stores should be able to check for appropriate code so you can find out what is wrong with it.
