I recently inherited a 98 mountaineer with the check engine light on. It threw the codes: P1151, P0153, P0155.

I put about 100 miles on it and the fuel gauge got stuck on full.

The battery also drained over two days, so I think there is a short somewhere.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P0153 and P0155 is related with O2 sensor bank2 sensor 1. It is the easest one to replace on my 98 EB V8. I am not familiar with P1151 but I am sure there are lot posts about that. Just search the forum for that.

P1151 code is Lack Of HO2S21 Switch - Sensor Indicates Lean. This code relates to the O2 sensor

A Heated Exhaust Oxygen (HO2S) sensor indicating lean at the end of a test is trying to correct for an over-rich condition. The test fails when the fuel control system no longer detects switching for a calibrated amount of time.
