Check engine w/cruise control on... help please

Ok so I'm on my way back to school today, and I'm crusing at about 80 or so. I've had the cruise on for about a half an hour to 45 mins. All of a sudden the check engine light comes on. This happened once before but I dismissed it when it turned off after I shut the cruise off, and couldn't replicate the problem. But it did it again today. Can anyone tell me why this might be? It turns off when I turn the cruise off...... I'm lost!

Go to Autozone and they'll do it for free. You have OBD-1, a scanner is only $30 for that system.

Very difficult to diagnose your trouble(s) without knowing the code(s).

I've had the same thing happen....turned out to be an O2 sensor....
