My check engine light comes on after about a mile or two and will stay on unless i go 50+ for about a mile then it turns off. I don't notice any engine problems, no loss of power or anything like that. it seems to function correctly. Any Ideas? thanks

If you have a code checker, did you check it for codes?

no i don't have one of those. i think it is really worth my while to go and get one. it is one of those annoying things that i take to my garage and they can not get the light on and when i drive away it pops right on. I'll have to get a code checker. I was just hoping on the symptoms someone might be able to guess. thanks for reminding me i need a code checker

hmmm.............get a code scanner.........mine had same problem, was the left oxygen sensor.

Its probably a low voltage on an oxygen sensor code.

I recently had the same problem, turns out it was one of the O2 sensors.
