check fuel cap light

I am totally at my witts end with this light. We have replaced the fuel cap and the filler neck with no luck. The fuel light eventually throws the check engine light on. Can anyone please help me out with a solution to this increasingly annoying problem???

Welcome to this forum! It's possible that the cap is not making a tight fit. Did you purchase it from a Ford dealer or an auto parts store? Maybe they gave you the wrong part number?

I bought the cap from the dealership. The whole problem started after someone stole gas from my tank. I thought they messed up the filler neck in doing so that's why I replaced that also.

Either the filler neck or the cap might not be the correct match.
