Chip for 2001 Sport

Good news! Rick at Amazon Racing of Fallston MD will be gathering the data/codes from my '01 Sport tomorrow which he will then email to Superchips. From what I'm hearing this will be the first time they've taken a gander at them. Thanks to Chris at Smartyparts who finally said what the deal is; someone has to get to their reader so this process can begin. Once they've examined and tweaked the codes, they will be emailed back to Rick @ Amamzon who can then burn an EPROM right there for testing prior to final calibrations.
I will be covering the entire gamut of mods with Rick, including the point where 'custom programming' becomes a necessity. Rick and his wife drag and race Cobras and a Lightning (Low 10's), he can be contacted at 410.404.1413.
BTW, my ECU code is 'TTY3' and a 50 series Delta-Flow Flowmaster is on it's way from http://www.rpmoutlet.com (George).

So what's the deal? Should I wait to get a superchip for my '01 until they get it tweaked?

Computer code Location

Is on the top right hand side of the engine bay back against the firewall in front of the passenger's seat. If you do a search back a few weeks in this forum, someone posted excellent photos. At any rate look for the connector with the multitude of wires. On top of the connection you will see a code, maybe even "TTY3". Has anyone told you that a chip is ready for your '01?

Limited slip?

P.S. How did you get a 3.73 limited slip? I also have the 3.73, but I believe it is not LS. Says on my sticker, "3.73 regular axle"

2001 Sport

I factory ordered mine with the Limited Slip also called Traction Lok. The extra MSRP charge was $355, dealer invoice $302. It's not that you have to special order Ltd Slip, they sprinkle some among the inventory just like the sprinkle various builds/option packages.

I bought mine from dealer stock, first one and only one on the lot back at the beginning of March. If I had known that it was an option I would have waited. So what's the deal with the chip? Do I need to wait for a 01 chip? I didn't see any 01 chips at the Superchip site nor at the Smartyparts site.

Hey, did you get the new Sport Trak wheels or did you get the old 5 spoke teardrop wheels? I have the older ones.
