i called apten today and they needed my serial number form my computer thing that is up on the eft inside of my dash with a hell of alot of wires to it. i found that but no bar code. has this happened to anyone or can i just give the my VIN and they look it up?

Inside of your dash? The ECM/computer is located on the driver or passenger side firewall. There should be a sticker with a 4 character code.

Should be on the plug. All you need is the 3 letters and 1 number code, no bar code.
