chip question

I cant find anything in my Chilton manual on this, so here goes... I have seen a lot of posts about performance chips, and yes I did search the forums and was unable to find an answer specific to this question. Does the '93 Ford Ranger XLT 4X4 4.0 have a chip in it? Can it be upgraded for more HP?

All 1st gens have a slot for a chip in the ECU. The ECU is located behind the passenger kick panel. The slot is covered by a little black panel.

bamachips is the only vendor left & you have to call them & get a tuned chip to add.
If you have no other mods it's really a waste of $

Now I'm not sure if the ranger is different.

Don't expect much from a chip for you application, sorry.

i had a jet chip and didnt notice much of a gain at all..even with exhaust, intake, tb and maf
