Hello America !!!!! :us:
I have a chirping noise in the engine compartment. I have removed the belt and check the idler bearing and the alternator bearings. Both were good, added grease and reinstalled. Fired the engine before replacing the belt and the chirping was still there. Any ideas before I take it to the shop?

not to sound stupid but belt maybe?

After reviewing some of the other postings I am betting the cam shaft positioning sensor, also. I will let you know what I find tomorrow.

Thanks for the help. This site is great.

Definitely sounds like the Camshaft position sensor. At some point it will throw a code and the CEL will come on. Depending on engine you have it can be a pain to replace. I had a shop do mine on the OHV engine I have. I also had all intake gaskets replaced at same time.
