Chrome Grille Insert. Worth it?

I have a 96 Explorer. This says 98-01. will it still fit? and do you think I should buy it?

Generally the 1995-2001 4-door grilles were the same (the paint color shifted from silver to black in 1998). I believe the latch assembly changed slightly between 1995 and 2001, but the mounting structure should be the same.

so a grill from a explorer 95 - 01 will fit a mountaineer 95 - 01?

Yes.

The '98+ (I think it started in '98) had a different latch that opened from between the grille and the hood, the pre '98 hood release was from reaching through the grille, but the grilles are the same. There was a mesh backer behind the '98+

It will fit. It's just a plasti-chrome cover that goes over the bars of the grille.

it fits i have one on my truck it clips right on it takes 3 seconds to install
