Chrysler UConnect vs Ford Sync

I have not seen the latest UConnect system to compare them honestly but the MFT blows away the older UConnect I had in my 2009 Dodge Ram.

Ford has a real winner if they fix the bugs.

The only UI that I really think needs tweaking is the rear climate controls. I think it's just a bit confusing at first on who has control, you or the rear seat passengers.

I would also like to see the zooming in animation of the drivers/passenger seat go away. I don't like to have to press the icon twice to turn it on.

I really like the colorful interface and I love the four comer approach that Ford is using (phone/climate/navigation/radio). I love how if one is front and center, the other three still give information in the corners.

Thought this was interesting comparison, as both Kia and Chrysler now compete with Ford in this area:

One thing I hate about these reviews is the lack of detail. They said people had an easier time accessing phone, Sirius, etc on the uconnect... But not how that is so. I mean when you start up MFT it has a home screen with four corners that clearly tell you what they do, plus you can change certain options right from that home screen.

I guess I wish I knew how they made that simpler. Or maybe they meant once you are in the phone system, they found it easier, but again... In what way?

I mastered MFT in the 15 minutes I sat in the Ex after we got it home. Had everything set to my liking and knew several of the voice commands. I am not a good baseline since I have a degree in computer engineering and work with computer systems and troubleshooting all day, so I would find the system easier than my grandma would. But that's why I wish they would tell us where the faults are between MFT and UConnect. Not just say "UI better on uconnect, voice better on sync"

They did give some detail on the voice end. Just would like more on the UI end.

I don't think MFT is hard or difficult. I think the bugs and black screens are atrocious however and that Ford is giving up its lead in the area as a result.
