2002 Ford Explorer - EB
The cigar lighter in my 2002 Ford Explorer EB has stopped working. I measured voltage at the lighter: zero. I checked the fuse; it is good. I removed the fuse to check voltage at the fuse holder: zero. Just to be sure my meter was working, I pulled another fuse and checked voltage at the fuse holder; got 12.4VDC. Any ideas on troubleshooting or what the problem may be? Thank you.

Welcome aboard!! :salute:

Did you check both sides of the fuse holder? :dunno:

One side is Line & will have voltage. The other is Load & will have none. Make sure you are testing with a good ground.

Fuse information for the Cigar Lighter & Power Points:

  • Cigar Lighter - Fuse #24 (15A) - Central Junction Box
  • Power Point 1 - Fuse #9 (20A) - Battery Junction Box
  • Power Point 2 - Fuse #7 (20A) - Battery Junction Box

Check those 3 fuses and post up the results and we will go from there. ;)
