Class 3 hitch

Will a 91-94 Explorer hitch fit on a 97? I may have access to one and was just curious before I purchased it. If not, where do you recommend getting one for a reasonable price? Thanks in advance.

i got one at pepboys for $100 flat square tube hitch...no the round style hidden hitch
had it installed at uhaul pretty cheap-uhaul only had the round ones, i didnt want the round one

i am not 100% sure, but i believe the later model ones will fit, but you may have to drill some holes in the rear

FWIW, JC Whitney lists the same hitch for 91 -97 Explorers.

I think that the rear frame is the same, but I do not have any proof other than the JC Whitney page that a 91-94 hitch will fit a 97.
